Pictures of Avery's Nursery

I think it is about time I post some pictures of Avery's room, now that it is finished. Isn't it beautiful!

Week of August 21-27

What a week. We are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

On Monday we had our homestudy visit with the new social worker. She was super nice and understanding about the trouble we've had. She promised to work quickly to get everything done for us. Imagine my surprise on Wednesday morning when she called to say she was done! That really was fast! Her supervisor still had to look it over and attach the license, but we can pick it up the first of next week!

We pray we've crossed the final hurdle and the next news we will have will be our court date. Amazing!

Week of Aug. 14-20

This week got off to a slow start. As you know we have been trying to schedule our homestudy visit with the new agency. We finally were able to schedule it Thursday. Julie, our new social worker, will be coming on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Please be praying for us as we meet her and that she will work quickly to get everything completed.I have been very busy this week with cheerleading. It's nice, because it keeps my mind off the wait.
I hope we are past our last set-back and everything will be smooth sailing from here on out!

Getting Closer

Tonight, after months of planning and work ~ Avery's room is done! She can come home now. We are waiting for our new social worker to schedule our home visit. This is our last step to complete. The judge has our paperwork and once the new homestudy is done we can get our court date. Yipee!

Avery's bag is packed and ready to go. We are getting close!

14 Months Old

Today Avery is 14 months old. Ryan and I keep wondering if she is walking on her own ~ we don't agree. He thinks yes, I think no. Maybe it is my wishful thinking on my part, not wanting to miss that milestone. We are hoping it isn't too much longer before we get that long awaited phone call, telling us we have a court date.

On a positive note, our documents are in Russia being translated. We are still packing what we can - or should I say I am. Ryan is not one to enjoy organization and pre-planning.
